Davis Limbach, of Orcas Island, Washington, takes great pleasure in having care. Sacred circle and ritual, as well as communal living, have been his calling since he stepped onto it in 2012 during a great pilgrimage of community around the edges on the U.S. He has stepped into the role of tending the fire in grief ritual with Laurence Cole and for solstice long dance on Lopez Island. He is drawn to the center of the community, where there is always tending to do. Whether it’s doing dishes, making food, feeding the fire, or composting our shit, Davis takes joy in meeting others there and doing it together with a song on our lips! At this gathering he, and others, will be holding the sacred fire with reverence and meticulous care as an offering to anchor our unified spirit of loving connection, that all may be healed and peace may spread out from that center.
Introducing pods: small group circles for authentic relating games and time to share! Pods are like the glue that helps create our village. Many people on our team will be a pod facilitator (roughly 12 people per pod). They will create a safe container for their group to listen with an open heart and practice taking ownership of their story. The people you meet in your pod will be a great anchor point during Celest Fest. Pods will meet 3 times during the festival, and each person will have a chance to speak, to be heard, and to listen. Many thanks to Maizy Anderson for helping to create the structure of these pods and Cynthia Dumas for spearheading the pods for Gathering.
Cynthia Dumas believes in the power of unconditional love. When a person feels connected to community, seen, heard, and experiences unconditional love, it creates room for transformation. During Celest Fest, people are really present with themselves and one another. The present moment is all we have, and when we can stay present, magic occurs.
